Within LayawayGo, the AI MatchBuy™ feature provides personalised goal recommendations and offer suggestions to support your financial wellbeing.

We collect only the information required to deliver LayawayGo and the AI MatchBuy™ feature.

  • Timelines and deadlines
  • User preferences

Optional context data

  • Coarse, radius-based location information to surface nearby merchant offers. We do not collect precise GPS coordinates.

Usage information

  • Interactions with LayawayGo and AI MatchBuy™
  • Clicks, selected offers, feature engagement patterns

Eligibility signals

  • Simple boolean flags (e.g., student status). No sensitive demographic profiles are created or stored.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Generate personalised goal insights
  • Provide AI MatchBuy™ recommendations
  • Display merchant offers relevant to your goals
  • Support progress tracking, streaks, and reward features
  • Improve reliability and accuracy during the PoC phase
  • Investigate issues and provide user support

We do not sell your data and we do not build third-party advertising profiles.

3. Proof-of-Concept (PoC) Testing Notice

AI MatchBuy™ is currently in Proof-of-Concept (PoC) stage as part of the Scottish Government–funded innovation project. Some de-identified usage data may be analysed to:

  • improve performance
  • measure usability
  • meet research requirements

This project has been reviewed and approved by the University of Dundee Ethics Committee.

4. Automated Decision-Making

AI MatchBuy™ offers assistive recommendations, not financial advice. Suggestions are generated using factors such as:

  • goal compatibility
  • timeline and deadline
  • contribution trajectory
  • offer eligibility
  • practicality (distance/time)

You remain fully in control of your decisions.

5. Payment Processing

LayawayGo is not a bank, lender, or regulated payment institution. All payments or deposits are processed by secure third-party providers such as:

  • Stripe
  • PayPal
  • Debit card processors

LayawayGo does not store full card details or execute regulated financial transactions.

6. Data Storage & Security

  • Data is stored securely in UK/EU-based servers.
  • Access is restricted to authorised LayawayGo personnel.
  • Encryption, pseudonymisation, and access controls are used.
  • You may request data deletion, export, or correction at any time.

7. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • access your data
  • correct inaccurate information
  • request deletion
